Restorative Dentistry

Restorative Dentistry (or in some cases, dental reconstruction) is the all-encompassing art of keeping your teeth and mouth healthy and functional.

Let us help you find your smile again!

Restorative dentistry procedures include cavity fillings, dental bridges, crowns, and more. We can help repair a single tooth, multiple teeth, or in some cases, the completion of a full mouth reconstruction.

Repairing your smile is not only for aesthetic purposes, but is a confidence boost and oral health requisite. Preventative dentistry provides newly functional teeth that are natural looking and feel great! We can restore your teeth back to its brilliance in any of the following areas:

Bridges

Traditional Bridges: Traditional bridges are the most popular in use. A traditional bridge uses the two teeth on either side of the missing tooth as anchors for a false tooth that fills that space.

Cantilever Bridges: A Cantilever Bridge is an option used when there is only one tooth adjacent to the missing tooth, supporting the false tooth only on one end.

Maryland Bridges: A Maryland Bridge is a popular choice as it requires very little preparation to the neighbouring teeth, and is somewhat of a more cost-effective solution than others.

Crowns

Crowns are prosthetic devices, also known as caps, which are used to restore the function and aesthetics of a tooth that has lost a significant amount of structure.
Implants

Dental implants are a permanent solution to replace absent roots and support artificially replaced teeth. Dental implants are used as an alternative to bridges or dentures. Made of titanium, dental implants are carefully placed in the jawbone where they act as an artificial tooth root. The bone eventually grows around the implant providing strength like a natural root. To complete the implant, a dental crown is placed on top of the implant and secured in place.

Bonding

Dental bonding is a procedure in which resin is used to form tooth-coloured components to repair discoloured, fractured, chipped, or decayed teeth. A custom mold is taken of the impaired tooth and a newly formed tooth is formed in a lab. The newly formed material is then bonded to your tooth, hence the term “bonding”.

Veneers

Porcelain veneers are a fantastic alternative for remedying dull, discoloured, misshapen, chipped or crooked teeth. Made of thin layers of porcelain or composite resin, veneers are laid over the outside of your teeth to improve upon their appearance.

Root Canal Therapy

The goal of root canal treatment is to save a severely affected tooth. Your doctor will remove the dead tissue at the root and clean out the bacteria from the infected tooth.

Dental Filling

We use tooth-coloured (composite) dental fillings that are designed to blend in with your natural teeth. Dental fillings cover an array of issues such as a broken tooth, a tooth showing signs of decay, or an old dental filling in need of replacement.

Our goal is to restore the natural function of your teeth and have you smiling again as soon as possible. We use composite, colour-match fillings at our St Paul Dental office, so you can be sure that you are getting a natural-looking solution.

If your tooth is broken, is showing signs of decay, or perhaps you have an old filling in need of replacement, we can help! Call us for an appointment today – 780-645-6028.
